Demo Recording 2002
Floodstain's influences lie with Fu Manchu & Kyuss, but with more funky influences, and good solid rock. Floodstain doesn't stick to the typical rhythms one would expect from Fu-Kyuss alike bands. FS is still doing some soul-searching on "Get It On", and with the wide choice of options they can amount into something worth looking out for. There's allot of diversity on the Demo in voice, rhythm, and melody. Bass guitar sounds almost jazzy on some songs, vocals go from screaming to ballads and drums from funky to pounding the beats. Floodstain keeps rocking' front to back on their 9 song demo CD, full speed ahead through all the songs. "Flies" has a high dose of "Alice in Chains", yet "The stars in Your eyes" sound pink-floyd space rock alike. Floodstain is a band worth checking out live on stage!

FLOODSTAIN from the Netherlands playing energetic and heavy Rock N’ Roll. Some members of the Rock press are also call this music high energetic rock. And this is what they play. But not in a dull or stupid way. During the album they prove their musical intelligence.
the first song GET IT ON sounds like the name of the song. This is high energetic rock as its best.
The second is in the same way with an very 70’s inspired end. This is the point where you assume the abilities of the band. This became obvious with the third track FLIES. It is the more emo- , grungy side and it is very becoming to them. A great refrain which stays in the ears for a while.
The next one starts a bit strange but this is mainly due to the sound which is not the best. SPACETRIP is more metal than the other song. It is a mix between Monster Magnet and Iron Maiden.
HAVE YOUR FACE is more grungy like Nirvana with a sing a long refrain. The singer sounds like Kurt.
THE STARS IN YOR EYES is one of the best songs and has a hypnotic riff which could also written by Josh Homme.
This is a really good piece of music. And for those who like different rock styles on one cd you should get your copy. You can listen to the record without getting bored. The only thing which is not the best is the sound especially on the faster tracks.

Floodstain - promo
Het komt niet vaak voor dat een promo-cd van een Nederlandse band me in positieve zin verrast, maar het stonerrock-trio Floodstain is het gelukt! En blijkbaar ben ik niet de enige, want producer Pieter Kloos, bekend van zijn werk met Peter Pan Speedrock en Motorpsycho, heeft Floodstain uitgenodigd om een debuutalbum op te nemen.
Maar goed, de promo dus. Opener Stars In Your Eyes heeft alles in zich om een klassieker in het genre te worden: originele riff, pakkend ritme, meeslepende zang en een voortreffelijke spanningsboog. Lost In Space en At The End We're All High springen ook duidelijk boven de middelmaat uit. Spitfire en Transport League mogen ze van mij van het debuutalbum af laten. Ook hoop ik dat ze nog iets meer aandacht besteden aan de teksten, want die zijn behoorlijk clichématig.

this gig was incredible we played almost for two hours sold all our cds people where dancing on stage rex burned his bass i trashed my strat in tree pieces it was loud some chicks wanted us to sign there albums it was really a rock n roll come back iv never ever had so mutch free drinks on on night because when we wanted to stop people went like we give you a beer for every song you play extra so we played until i was to drunk to go on

Jordy decided to quit with floodstain and develop his own musical career.he didn't left on musical reasons more because of personal miscommunications and personal unsolved problems we wish him the best and thank him for a great experience and good dam times love from aleks and boy your the best
